The Children’s Place Return and Exchange Policy

  • We will gladly accept unwashed, unworn merchandise, with original sales tag attached within 45 days.
  • All returns are subject to verification of original sale. We reserve the right to limit returns regardless of receipt.
  • Merchandise may only be returned in the country in which it was originally purchased.
  • No returns or exchanges on Halloween merchandise after Halloween.

Starting 5/1/12, where returns will be accepted:

  • Purchases made at a PLACE Retail Location can ONLY be returned to a PLACE Retail Location- they cannot be returned to an Outlet Location
  • Purchases made at an Outlet Location can ONLY be returned to an Outlet Location- they cannot be returned to a PLACE Retail Location
  • Purchases made online at www.thechildrensplace.ca can be returned through the mail or to any of our PLACE Retail Locations.
  • NOTE: some items identified online, on your packing slip or on the tag as Online Exclusives can ONLY be returned by mail.

With the original sales receipt:

  • If the return is within 45 days of purchase, you will receive a full refund in the original form of payment.
  • After 45 days you will receive the current selling price of the merchandise in the form of a merchandise credit. Merchandise credits cannot be redeemed for cash, used toward payment of credit cards or redeemed online.

With a Gift Receipt:

  • If the return is within 45 days of purchase, you will receive a full refund in the form of a Gift Card.
  • After 45 days you will receive the current selling price of the merchandise in the form of a Merchandise Credit. Merchandise credits cannot be redeemed for cash, used toward payment of credit cards or redeemed online.

Without the original sales receipt:

  • You will receive the current selling price of the merchandise in the form of a merchandise credit. Merchandise credits cannot be redeemed for cash, used toward payment of credit cards or redeemed online.

Price Adjustments:

  • Price adjustment requests will be honored when items are purchased at FULL RETAIL price and if the merchandise was discounted within 7 days of the original purchase date.
  • Sale and discounted items are not eligible for price adjustments.
  • Price adjustments can only be processed with the original sales receipt.
  • Coupons and webcodes offering discounts on your purchase cannot be applied toward previously placed orders or prior purchases.

Returns/Exchanges for Orders Placed Online at thechildrensplace.ca

The restrictions and conditions stated in the Return and Exchange Policy above apply to online orders as well.

  • Merchandise may be returned by mail or to any of our retail stores within 45 days of the original purchase date.
  • Please note: Exchanges can only be made at our store locations; we cannot process exchanges by mail. Items can be returned by mail for a credit.
  • The restrictions and conditions stated in the Return and Exchange Policy above apply.

Return by Mail

  • Simply pack up the item(s) you'd like to return and follow the instructions below:
    1. Complete the Return Form (the bottom portion of your packing slip), including Quantity Returned and Reason Code found on your packing slip.
    2. Include your contact information in case we need to contact you regarding your return.
    3. Detach the pre-addressed return label at the bottom of the form and set aside.
    4. Pack your merchandise with the return form securely inside.
    5. Attach the pre-addressed return label to the outside packet and ship it to us to the address below.

  • We advise selecting an insured mail service; we are not responsible for items that we do not receive.
  • You are responsible for the paying postage; COD deliveries will not be accepted.
  • We cannot refund original or return shipping fees, unless required by law.
  • Refunds are only issued to the credit card used when the order was originally placed.
  • If you are returning a gift and prefer to receive a Gift Card for the total amount rather than have the original purchaser's credit card refunded, please check the appropriate box on the return form.
  • Please note that exchanges cannot be processed by mail. If you would like to exchange an item, you can either visit one of our retail stores or return the original item and place a new order separately.
  • Merchandise purchased in our stores cannot be returned by mail; store purchase must be returned to a store.
  • Please allow up to 4 weeks for refunds to post on your account.

Returns/Exchanges to a Store

  • For on-the-spot returns or exchanges, please bring your packing slip along with the merchandise to be returned or exchanged to any one of our retail stores.
  • To receive a refund, please bring a photo ID and credit card that match the name and billing information on the packing slip.
  • We cannot refund original or return shipping fees, unless required by law.
  • Please note: without a packing slip we'll gladly exchange your merchandise or issue you a merchandise credit for the current selling price of the merchandise returned. Merchandise credits cannot be redeemed for cash, used toward payment of credit cards or redeemed online.
  • We cannot research online orders at our retail stores.

Price Adjustment Policy for Orders Placed Online at thechildrensplace.ca

  • Price adjustment requests will be honored when items are purchased at FULL RETAIL price and if the merchandise was discounted within 7 days of the original purchase date.
  • Online orders cannot receive price adjustments in our retail stores.
  • Sale and discounted items are not eligible for price adjustments.
  • Price adjustments can only be processed with the original sales receipt/packing slip.
  • Coupons and webcodes offering discounts on your purchase cannot be applied toward previously placed orders or prior purchases.
  • To receive a price adjustment for full retail priced items that went on sale within 7 days of the initial purchase date, please mail the portion of your original packing slip indicating the sale items to:
